How do you imagine a typical day?
- No typical day
- Investigating complaints, visiting businesses, taking samples for testing, preparing evidence, writing reports, removing unsafe goods
- Free time : research laws and regulations to see if any changes have been made so can educate people better
- Allow to carry out day to day talks in line with company standards
What do you want to accomplish?
- Educate businesses/traders on the consequences of not abiding my laws/regulations.
- Improve customer and employee satisfaction
-Increase health and safety
-To make a change and be proud of the work I do
Why would you be good within compliance?
-Passion for mauro situation, didn’t want to see friend and others at risk.
- TK Maxx : consumer rights, health and safety, equality act.
- Good communication, good at making decisions, strong attention to detail, can analyse data collected.
Executive violating code of conduct what do you do?
- Speak up: find out why it has happened the context of situation
- Report it: take findings and report it to make others aware
- Educate: Highlight the wrongdoing and how to prevent in future
Difficult compliance/ethics issue faced. How did you resolve?
- I was a whistleblower
- reported a cleaner for making racist, derogatory comments about an employee
- difficult as had learning difficulties/special needs
- Equality act 2010 : protected characteristic
- saved companies reputation prevented workers being at risk of discrimination
Why should we hire you?
- confident I have built up a strong skill set which relates very well to the role
- very clear understanding of what the job entails, something I feel very passionate about and feel I am motivated to make a change.
What is your weakness?
- Struggle to say no, workload can sometimes be challenging
- found a way to manage this being making a to do list prioritising tasks and building goof relationships with those around
