Commercial Fiction
The series of events that a writer uses to create a narrative
Plot
Often cause and effect or chronological but complex meanings frequently call for a more experiemental and unexpected structure
Structure
The main character, often the hero or central figure
Protagonist
The character of force opposing the protagonist
Antagonist
Do not change or grow throughout the story
Static Character
Contrast with the protagonist to highlight certain traits
Foil Character
Experience significance development or change.
Dynamic character
The author directly describes a characters qualities.
Direct
Traits are revealed through actions, dialogue and thoughts
Indirect
It pertains to the central ideas, message or underlying meaning of the story.
Theme
Introduces the characters, setting, and initial conflict
Exposition
Events leading up to the climax, building tension or complications.
Rising Action
The turning point or most intense moment of the story.
Climax
The conclusion of the story, where story were resolved.
Resolution
The aftermath of the climax, addressing remaining conflicts
Falling action
The time and place where the story take place

The protagonist challenges the societal norms or institutions.
Man vs society
The character struggle against natural forces
Man vs nature
The character battles their own thoughts, doubts, or fear

Conflict with futuristic or other worldy forced
