Interperations Flashcards
Normal Sinus Rhythm
60-100 bpm; Regular; Upright P wave in Lead II
Sinus Bradycardia
60> bpm; Regular; Upright P wave in Lead II
Sinus Tachycardia
100< bpm; Regular; Upright P Wave in Lead II
Sinus Arrhythmia
bpm varies; Irregular; Upright P Wave in Lead II
Sinus Arrest
Any bpm; Regular but interrupted by pause; Normal P waves, can change after pause; (AV can take over to reactivate NSR)
Sinus Block
Any bpm; Regular but interrupted by pause; Normal P waves before and after pause; (No P wave on pause)
Wandering Atrial Pacemaker (WAP)
100> bpm; Irregular; at least 3 different P wave shapes
Multifocal Atrial Tachycardia (MAT)
100< bpm; Irregular; at least 3 different P wave shapes
Premature Atrial Complexes (PAC)
Any bpm; Regular but interrupted by beat; P wave shaped differently than other P waves
Paroxysmal Atrial Tachycardia (PAT)
160-250 bpm (PACs will have different rate); Regular but interrupted by PACs; Sudden burst of 3 or more PACs that usurps underlying rhythm
Atrial Flutter
250-350 bpm: Regular; No P waves, flutters instead; Atrium fires out rapid impulses and AV node cannot keep up
Atrial Fibrillation (A-Fib)
350-700 bpm; Irregularly irregular; no defined P waves; (Atria does not contract as unit)
Superventricular Tachycardia (SVT)
130< bpm; Regular; No P waves; (Originates above the ventricles)
Premature Junctional Complexes (PJC)
Any bpm; Regular but interrupted; Inverted P waves
Junctional Bradycardia
40> bpm; Regular; Inverted P waves
