What effect can choosing different parts of our identity to share online cause?
Because you might choose to share different parts of your identity to real life, your online friends may be different from the types of people you are friends with in real life.
This also means that people you speak to may only be sharing part of their identity, or making it up.
If you say things online that have strong opinions, what happens?
You attract people who strongly agree or disagree. Always think about what you are posting before you do so. Know that people online are not always who they seem to be and your actions can stop you being safe or happy.
So think before you share. Think before you post. Am I being the person online I want to be?
What does it mean to show respect and be responsible online?
Showing respect: Treat other people online kindly and how you would want to be treated yourself. This helps keep them and you safe and happy online.
Being responsible: Think about the effects your online actions have on other people. This could be what you say or the online platform or apps you choose to use.
How can people find out about you online?
You leave behind a digital footprint, which other people can find. For example, from social media, message boards like Quora or Reddit, reviews on websites like Amazon.
Where can online bullying take place?
Anywhere people interact. That means on social media, gaming, messaging.
Unlike face to face bullying, online bullying can go with you wherever you have a digital device, including your bedroom.
Always think about how your actions and posts effect other people. Treat them like you want to be treated yourself.

Companies monitor when users come to their websites.
Websites as well as viruses and malware use cookies to store and retrieve information.
How can people pretend to be someone else on the?
They might set up a fake website, a fake social media account or a fake messaging account and use it, pretending to be someone else.
They do this to deliberately upset that person. It can cause damage to that person’s online reputation.
If you ever have a problem online, who should you tell?
A trusted adult (e.g. a parent or a teacher).
Why should we simulate something happening in real life and how can we do this?
Simulating is producing a computer model of a real life situation
Simulating something lets you try it happening out (a real-life scenario). It is usually much cheaper and better to do this than try it out in real life first.
We can simulate by using any package that accurately represents what would happen in real life. A spreadsheet is one example.
What do you know about formulas in spreadsheets?
Using a formula is more efficient than entering the data and manually calculating results. Once created and debugged, it will not give human errors.
Using the = sign means that what follows will be a formula.
Simpel formulas let you do things like create a total or an average from a set of results.

Blogs are personal websites. They usually have a 13+ age requirement. They are often similar to social media with people able to post replies.
Blogs give people a voice for their passions.
Vlogs are video versions of blogs.
What do you know about open source software?
It is created and shared openly by people, for free.
