What is a router?
Computers that receive messages travelling across a network and redirects them towards heir intended destination based on the addressing information included in the message.
What is the Internet Protocol Stack?
Process by which information is translated throughout the internet by communication
What is DNS?
The internet’s system for converting alphabetic names into numeric IP Addresses
What is an IP address?
Number assigned to any item that is connected to the internet.
What is TCP?
Provides reliable, controlled and error-checked delivery of a stream of packets on the internet. TCP is tightly linked with IP and often seen as TCP/IP in writing
What is IETF?
Internet engineering task force: Organization which develops and promotes voluntary Internet standards, in particular the standards that comprise the Internet protocol suite
What is bandwith?
Transmission capacity measured by bit rate
What is latency?
Latency is the amount of time a message takes to traverse a system.
What is bitrate?
The number of bits that are processed per unit of time. Ex: 8 bits
What does an open internet mean?
