Q

How does the gill arch system work in fish?

A

Heart pumps low oxygen to gills.

Oxygenated blood from gills goes to aorta body.

Arteries supply oxygen to body, veins return low oxygen blood to heart.

Q

How is blood pumped in the human embryo?

A

Blood from veins returns to heart, is pumped to aortic sac

Blood pumps up aortic arches 3,4, and 6.

From here, blood travels to anteriorly and posteriorly in the right and left aortic arches of the head.

Lastly, blood from dorsal aortae of head fuse to travel down as a single aorta of the body, and ultimately the low oxygen blood is returned to the venous system.
