Internal components of phrygeneal arch Flashcards
What is the old name for the pharygeneal arches?
Brachial arches
How does the gill arch system work in fish?
Heart pumps low oxygen to gills.
Oxygenated blood from gills goes to aorta body.
Arteries supply oxygen to body, veins return low oxygen blood to heart.
How is blood pumped in the human embryo?
Blood from veins returns to heart, is pumped to aortic sac
Blood pumps up aortic arches 3,4, and 6.
From here, blood travels to anteriorly and posteriorly in the right and left aortic arches of the head.
Lastly, blood from dorsal aortae of head fuse to travel down as a single aorta of the body, and ultimately the low oxygen blood is returned to the venous system.
Which aortic arches is blood pumped up in the human embryonic system?
Blood pumps up aortic arches 3,4, and 6.
Where is the pharynx located?
Anterior most part of the esophagus stomach and midgut
How does the arches develop?
as columns of tissue on either side of embryonic pharynx
Which rich develops first?
first arch
Which arch develops second?
second arch
What does the first arch divide into?
Maxillary division
mandibular division
by bending around the oral plate
Where does the second arch develop?
Behind the oral plate
followed by the third
Which arch form while the cranial neuropore is open?
first arch
What are the structures within the PA?
Aortic arch PA Mesoderm (muscle) Cranial nerve NC Mesoderm (cartilage) Pharyngeal pouch Pharyngeal groove
What does the neural crest contribute to?
cartilage and bone in the head
Which aortic arches degenerates?
1
2
Which aortic arches become the carotid arteries?
3
