-acute mental state that is reversible
- loss of orientation
etiology: old age
medications
infections:pneumonia/UTI
alcohol whithdrawl
delerium tremens
from alcohol
tremor/seizures/loss of orientation
alcohol withdrawl
no loss of orientation
TX/prevention:diazepam
depression
- > 2weeks
- lose appetite
-loss of interest
-low concentration
-low energy
-sleep disturbance - high risk for suicide
anhedonia
loss of intrest
chronic adrenal insufficiency diagnosis
morning cortisol levels
glascow coma scale (eye opening)
spontanious -4
to verbal command-3
to pain-2
no response - 1
glascow coma scale minimum and maximum
minimum - 3 points (deeply comatose )
maximum- 15 fully consious
if less than 8 - indication for intubation
