Colors combined in a manner that is pleasing to the eye.
Monochromatic
All tints, tones, and shades of one hue
Analogous
3-4 colors that are next to each other on the color wheel
Complimentary
Two colors that are opposite on the color wheel
Triadic
3 hues that are equidistant on the color wheel.
Achromatic
Hues of true white, black, and grey. “No colors”
Neutral
Brown, beige, cream, ect. Maybe some color.
ARCHITECTURE STYLES
Traditional
Formal: very basic, silk, expensive marble, typical silhouettes
Informal: more raw textures than formal
Informal Traditional Styles
Scandinavian: tile, white, blue, fireplaces
Southwest: raw textures, clay tiles, stucco wall, warmer colors, archways.
Period
Taking a period and modeling it in interior design
Craftsman
Lot of siding exposed, lots of wood, angles, furniture highlights.
Modern
Geometric, wood, natural finishes, organic colors
Mid century Modern: low to the ground furniture, smooth lines
Contemporary
No extras, very neutral, futuristic, stone, very plain
Eclectic
Mix of contemporary, rough textures, color mixing
Modern Farmhouse
Some traditional aspects, geometric beams, rough textures
Bohemian
Moroccan and Indian culture, can be modern, bright warm colors, pinks, orange, yellows ect.
Industrial Chic
Lot of leather, metal, warehouse Chic, exposed ductwork
