This is our interim presentation for the science fair, where we will share our project on “Improving Copper Algae Purification Through CO2 Enhancement.”

Our hypothesis is that adding CO2 will significantly impact copper absorption by algae.

Let’s review what we’ve done so far. We began with our baseline trials without CO2 and conducted five trials with 10 ppm of CO2.

This allowed us to compare copper levels with and without CO2. Here are pictures of our baseline and 10 ppm trials.

Our initial findings show varying copper concentrations before and after, confirming algae’s role in heavy metal absorption.

Also, we did face a challenge of the high CO2 pressure leading to some contents spilling from the beaker.
