The three dimensions of culture
Culture as lived
Culture as taught
Culture as performed
Type of culture that uses communication that focuses on underlying context, meaning. And tone in the message, and not just the words themselves.
High context culture
This type of culture expe ts communication to be explicity stated so that there’s no risk of confusion. And if a message isnt clear enough
It will slow down the process of communication.
Low context culture
Offers a structure that offers how people experience cultural differences
Development model of intercultural sensitivity (DMIS)
Step 1. The individual does not recognize cultural differences
Denial
Stage 2. The individual starts to recognize cultural differences and is l intimidated by them resulting in either a superior view on own culture or an unjustified high regard for the new one
Defense
Stage 2. The individual starts to recognize cultural differences and is l intimidated by them resulting in either a superior view on own culture or an unjustified high regard for the new one

Stage 3. Although individuals see cultural differences, They bank more on the university of ideas rather than on cultural differences
Minimization
Stage 4.the individual begins to appreciate important cultural differences in behaviors and eventually in values
Acceptance
Stage 5. The individual is very open to world views when accepting new perspectives
Adaptation
Stage 6. Individuals start to go beyond their own culture and see themselves and their actions based on multifarious cultural viewpoints
