Interaction design Flashcards

1
Q

What is interaction design?

A

It’s important to have a good understanding of the problem space, and the fundamental aspect of interaction design is to develop a conceptual model

Q

What does interaction design look like in practice?

A
  1. Based on customer needs, via a design process,
they explore a design space of possible designs
  2. This exploration is guided by repertoire of
    abstracted/concrete design examples
  3. Design is based on values: a designer needs to use ethical and aesthetic judgements that are appropriate for the context of the design
  4. The design exploration starts out with a few initial designs and thereafter broadens out substantially. Design sketches in these early phases are intentionally very far away from complete prototypes
  5. Interaction designers then critique their designs. This critique eventually leads to new designs. However, the design space exploration now contracts rather than expands.
