Assault
D acts w/ intent to cause a harmful or offensive contact and an imminent apprehension directly or indirectly results
Apprehension = knowledge or anticipation
Battery
D acts w/ intent to cause a harmful or offensive contact (or imminent apprehension) and a harmful/offensive contact directly or indirectly results
False imprisonment
D acts with intent to confine or restrain the P to a bounded area, actual confinement occurs, and the P either knows of the confinement or is hurt by it
Intentional infliction of emotional distress (IIED)
D intentionally or recklessly engages in extreme or outrageous conduct that causes P to suffer severe emotional distress
- P does NOT need to show physical symptoms to prevail, just needs to show she suffered from severe emotional distress
Trespass to land
D physically invades the land of another and intends to be where he is
Trespass to chattels
D intentionally interferes with another’s personal property and harm results
Damages = cost to REPAIR the property
Conversion
D intentionally interferes with another’s personal property and a serious and substantially harm results
Damages = FAIR MARKET VALUE of the property
