Databus Standards

A

Different standards are used for different things.
Civil aircraft, military aircraft.
Speed of the Databus and its performance is what matters.
ARINC 429
MIL-STD-1553B
ARINC 629

Q

What is FAA/FDA and IMA?

Main differences?

A

Federated Avionic/Digital Architecture
- everything is connected
- task orientated, dedicated computers
- communications via data bus
- minimal data fusion (e.g. combined displays)
Integrated Modular Avionics
- Uses the 3 layer stack
– Application software, Operating system, Hardware.
- Allows for common architecture and faster development. Things can be changed faster and computers speak the same language.
