Q

How does insulin facilitate glucose?

A

increase the uptake of glucose by tissues. increases liver glycogen. decreases glycogen breakdown. increases synthesis of fatty acids. inhibits breakdown of fatty acids into ketone bodies. promotes incorporation of amino acids into protein. If insulin is deficient then the release of stored glycogen and fat for energy production.
