Vertical S-1 Pattern

A

150 KIAS, any numbered heading, 1000 FPM climbs and descents

  1. 3 Second lead, 15% TQ, 2o NL (L/U)
  2. 3 seconds or 50’; 55% TQ, 4o NH (R/D)
  3. 3 seconds or 50’; 15% TQ, 2o NL (L/U)
  4. 3 seconds or 50’; 55% TQ, 4o NH (R/D)
  5. 50’ Prior, set torque for 150 KIAS and level off

Every 250’ check for 15 seconds of elapsed time.

Last 250’ is always for determining weather to transition on altitude or time.

A
  1. 200 KIAS on clean cardinal heading and base altitude
  2. SRT for 90 degrees of heading change
  3. TQ 10-25%, Slow to 150 KIAS (R/U)
  4. SRT for 90 degrees
  5. Basic Approach Config: TQ 10-25%, Below 150 Lower GR, Flaps T/O, BLC, 120 KIAS, 31%
  6. 24% TQ, 120 KIAS, 600 FPM descent
  7. After 2000’ execute missed approach: PCL-MAX, 10-15 degrees NH, 2 positive rates gear/flaps up, climb out 8 to 10 degrees NH for 2000’

Approach Pattern

A
  1. 200 KIAS S&L
  2. 20% TQ, Slow to 150 KIAS
  3. SRT right for 90 degrees
  4. Time 2 minutes and descend for 1000’, 15% TQ (1000 FPM)
  5. Level off at 150 KIAS
  6. End of 2 minutes, turn left for 210 degrees
  7. Descending transition to BAC, 15% TQ, below 150 GR, Flaps T/O, 120 KIAS, descend for 1000’
  8. 120 KIAS level off 35% TQ
  9. Reset 2 minutes
  10. 1000 FPM descent for 1000’, 15% TQ
  11. Level off 120 KIAS, 35% TQ
  12. End of 2 minutes execute missed approach
  13. 180 KIAS, 8-10 NH, for 2000’
  14. 200’ prior, level off, 200 KIAS
