STUDENTS: take care of them and resolve conflicts.
SAFETY: Do by the book and be safe. SECURITY: Keep classified documents secure.
CURRICULUM: Know how to update and maintain curriculum.
List and discuss the 4 principles of John Kellers Model of Motivational Theroy.
ATTENTION: Gain and keep attention to ensure learning.
RELEVANCE: Show relevance to motivate. Students learn more when they see whats in it or them.
CONFIDENCE: Build by setting challenging but achievable goals. show relationship of effort and success. SATISFACTION: Can be inner by completion of task or recongnition by peers and bosses.
Key principles of Applying motivation theory in a training situation
NEEDS AND DRIVES: a need or drive is a lack of somthing desirable or useful that causes a desire for satisfaction. ATTITUDES: Attitudes consist of feelings for or against people, objects, or ideas. ACHIEVEMENTS: a strong desire, aim, a goal or a desired objective.
VALUES: The students values, attitudes, and previous experience affect the nature and amount they learn.
INTERESTS: refers to a persons view of an activity as worthwhile or enjoyable for its own sake.
INCENTIVES: rewards stimulate student motivation.
State the ultimate goal of instruction
The ultimate goal is to cause students to remain motivated beyond the instructors influence and apply what they learned on the job.

READINESS: states that people can only learn when they are physically and mentally ready.
EXERCISE: stresses that practice makes permenant and perfect.
EFFECT: the emotional reaction of a learner.. more effective when a feeling of satisfaction is resulted.
PRIMACY: states that the first instructional event often creates a strong impression on the learner.
INTESITY: states that if the stimulus is real a change in behavior is more likely to occur.
RECENCY: All things being equal, the things learned last will be best remembered.

IMITATION: student observes behavior then imitates it.
TRIAL AN ERROR: also called discovery learning, learn by doing.
ASSOCIATION: comparring past learning to new learning.
INSIGHT: understanding that the whole is more than just the sum of parts. TRANSFER: the process of applying past learning to new or similar situations
Discuss how motivation affects student learning
Motivation often has as much or more impact than scholastiv ability. students bring different abilities and learning styles to training. motivation often determines whether or not a student achieves course objectives

VISUAL: sight is considered the most important sense.
AUDITORY: Hearing is the second most important.
KINESTHETIC: is a blend of all senses
