Inspectors Final Speech Flashcards
Why does the inspector say “we don’t live alone?
He says that because he is trying to come across that everyone knows everyone and that you won’t have anyone when you need them. its like ava has the birling family to rely on until they all left her alone so she had no one.He uses sentences lengths and talks positively about “us” or “we” and that will make the audience identify with was is being sad.
Why does he use “ in fire and blood and anguish” as a group of three
He uses it as a group of three to warn them with what might happen to them for what they have done to ava and he is also warning them that if they don’t learn there lesson there will be serious consequences that will take place. This suggest that the inspector if telling them to learn there lesson and start telling the truth more often then lying to everyone that makes them feel better.
Why is the word ‘intertwined’ powerful?
Because it helps the speech give a permanent impact on the audience so they know if they turn out like the birlings and keep everything a secret and lie there is bad things what will happen so he is also trying to tell them a lesson on how to tell the truth alongside the Birlings.
Why does the inspector talk positively about us and we then saying bad things about them?
Inspector goole talks more positively than negatively because he wants to tell them to be more positive about things and he wants the Birling family to start talking the actions more responsibility and start thinking positively.
Inspector Goole is trying to help the family change. why?
He is helping the family change because he is saying that “ we are members of one body” so he’s is saying if one of you do something you shouldn’t do then the rest are going to copy so if someone does something nice to someone else the rest will copy and start acting nice to everyone. He’s trying to change them so they don’t feel guilty all their life about what supposedly happened to Ava smith/Daisy Renton.
