In Priestly’s play, An Inspector Calls all of the Birlings and Gerald Croft can be blamed for Eva’s death to some extent. Each of the character’s actions contribute to Eva (or Daisy’s) eventual suicide

this was when Britain was the most powerful Country in the world on paper, their economy and global Empire was bigger than all global counterparts. this made The Birlings an even richer family with more class

Eva is a former employee under Mr Birling who got fired after wanting a raise in wages

They’re are seen as the Villains who want to cover up Eva Smiths death

the fact Eric was a heavy Drinker. Eric kept secrets from his parents
why was there a twist at the end of the book?
The inspector was not an inspector. the Birlings celebrate whilst the Youngers want to know if Eva actually died. they then find out an inspector has come to inspect then regarding the death of eva smith
how did the setting change when the inspector rang the birlings doorbell?
The atmosphere changed, the lights changed colour
Where was ‘Brumley’?
The play is set in 1912 in a place called Brumley, an industrial city in the North Midlands. This was a fictional town which Priestley had created in order to show what towns were like during that period.
