Visual, liquid dye pentetrant, eddy current.
The listed material is aluminum (non-ferrous) therefore magnetic particle and X-ray are not options.

What form of NDI finds defects inside a composite structure?

Answer 2

Metal ring tap test, ultrasound (it can find water in honeycomb structure)

Question 3

What steps are necessary to properly carry out a liquid dye penetrant inspection?

Answer 3

1. Clean part being inspected.
2. Apply dye penetrant according to instructions (dipping, brushing, spraying, etc)
3. Let part dwell for the listed amount of time.
4. Thoroughly rinse dye off with appropriate cleaner.
5. Apply developer.
6. Inspect for surface cracks.
