What are the inspection techniques for determining extent of sarcocysts infestation?

A
  1. View the abdominal muscles of the flank. Invert the flank to help detect cysts.
  2. Strip a small area of overlying tissue from the inner leg, sufficient to expose the underlying muscle.
  3. Make a shallow incisioin into the muscles of the inner thigh and outer shoulder
  4. View the exposed surface for sarcocysts
