Inputs and Outputs Flashcards
What is a closed loop?
A closed loop is a loop that has a condition. If a certain condition is not fulfilled, it will continue to do the process until it is fulfilled.
What is an open loop?
An open loop is a loop that runs for a certain amount of time. If a condition isn’t filled, it doesn’t change anything.
What is an input?
It is a piece of information that goes into the loop, like if a switch has been turned on or a certain temperature has been reached.
What is a process?
The process is what the loop does once the input comes in. This could be sending an electric current to a certain place or turning on a certain machine.
What is an output?
It is the effect that the process has on the area.
What is a feedback loop?
It has a certain condition, and if that condition is not met, it completes the process again. They only occur in closed loops.
What is a Thermistor?
A resistor that changes the resistance depending on the temperature.
What is an LDR?
Light Dependent Resistor. It varies the resistance depending on the light level.
What is a PCB?
Printed Circuit Board. It is a processor that is made from a board with indents in it to allow different parts to interact.
