Describe how a barcode scanner works

• Barcode is firstly read by a read laser or LED
• Light is reflected off barcode, dark areas reflect little light, allowing bars to be read
• reflected light is read by sensors
• as laser/LED light scans across barcode, a pattern is generated and converted to digital data, allowing computer to understand barode.

Touchscreen- Select items by touching an icon.
Keypad- To type in a numerical value, or any information.
card reader- read a customers debit or credit card

Printer- print out documents, receipts, etc.
Speaker- Play music, make a beeping sound
Screen- displays information, like cost of an item
