inotrope's andvassopressors Flashcards
Dobutamine - therapeutic effects
Decreases preload and afterload and increases contractility, SV, CO, renal flow, and UA output.
Dobutamine - s/e
increased HR and BP
Dobutamine - considerations
correct hypovolemia before administration
Dopamine - therapeutic effects
2-10 mcg/kg/min = contractility
10-20 mcg/kg/min = vasoconstriction
Dopamine - s/e
headache, ectopic beats, tachycardia, angina, vasoconstriction and hypotension
Dopamine - considerations
correct hypovolemia before or during infusion
Epinephrine - therapeutic effects
increased CO, HR, SVR
relaxes smooth bronchial muscles
Epinephrine - s/e
acute HTN, hyperglycemia, ST depression and dysrhythmia
Epinephrine - considerations
monitor BG b/e epi cases insulin resistance
Inaminone (Inocor) - therapeutic effects
increases CO, decreases SVR
Phosphodiesterase inhibitor reducing preload and afterload
Inaminone (Inocor) - s/e
dysrhythmia, hypotension, thrombocytopenia
Inaminone (Inocor) - considerations
- obstain basline elctrolytes, liver enzymes, BNP (heart failure), and CBC including platelet count
- correct electrolyte imbalance and dehydration
