Inorganic Spec Flashcards
1
Q
What is decoupling?
A
Where we run spectra of an isotope removing the isotopes present that its coupling to to get rid of the multiplets and have one single signal which will be right in the middle of where the multiplet originally was
2
Q
What spectra is decoupling almost always present in?
A
Decoupling is almost always present in 13C NMR spectra – we normally run 13C{1H} NMR
spectra (think how messy these spectra would be if we kept coupling to all the hydrogen
atoms!).
