What is a greenfield site?
Land that has not been built on before, usually in the countryside on the edge of a built up area.
What is a brownfield site?
Land that has been built on before and is to be cleared and reused. Often in the inner city.

What is Rebranding?
Giving an area a new image so that it attracts development and employment and leads to an upward spiral of success.
What are the reasons for ethnic segregation?
- Safety in numbers with people from the same background
- Protection from racial abuse
- Comfort from familiar food in shops and places to worship
- Support from people speaking the same language
- Employment factors
Name 3 strategies to eradicate ethnic segregation:
- Interpreters provided in hospitals and police stations
- Female doctors for those who’s religion doesn’t allow them to see a doctor of the opposite sex.
- Schools provide help & support fr children who only speak English as a second language
Social Issues with increased traffic:
- Longer journeys times for commuters etc.
- Increased noise levels frustrate locals
- Health problems caused by poorer air quality
- Increased risks of accidents on the road
Environmenal Issues with increased traffic:
- More cars means more exhaust fumes, leading to poor air quality
- CO2 emissions, dust and soot particulates released
- Increased noise levels
Economical Issues with increased traffic:
- Longer journey times mean a greater use of fuel, costing more money
- Weathering of buildings due to air pollution often requires costly repair

- Areas pedestrianised
- New indoor shopping areas constructed
- Derelict warehouses converted into shops
- Public areas such as parks improved aesthetically
Name some solutions to traffic problems:
- Park&Ride: Fewer cars in the city, less congestion
- Bus lanes: Buses not held up by other traffic, become reliable public transport methods.
- Trams:Another travel option, less air pollution
