What are the 4 things to do en-route to an incident?
a: Obtain information: description of offender, description of offender vehicle, direction of travel, description of weapons carried.
b: Watch for any vehicle from scene, note regos.
c: Plan where to park vehicle (SFP).
d: Form a plan with your partner (who will do what).
What are the 6 things you do on initial arrival at an incident?
a: Park in a safe, clear area.
b: Advise comms of 10/7 (obtain acknowledgement).
c: Revise the plan if the scene is different than expected
d: Be aware of what is happening, where it is happening and who is involved.
e: Ask people of the above.
f: Provide an update to comms.
What do you do to obtain information on arrival?
a: Locate the informant and gather brief facts
b: Ask the informant/witness to identify the offender/victim, or their DOT and vehicle details if not on scene
c: Update comms (who is present, if offender on scene, DOT, vehicle details)
d: Ask the informant/witness the location of the scene
e: Ask them to remain in a specific place, and they may need to be re-interviewed later
What is a CAP?
a: Common approach path
b: A path that avoids any possible route taken by an offender or victim to/from a scene
What is freeze in FCP?
Keep the scene in its original state, do not touch or move anything in the scene
What is control in FCP?
Control all movement in to and out of the scene, as well as any activity in the contained area
What is preserve in FCP?
Preserve all relevant exhibits from destruction or degradation
What is UNBENT?
U: prevent unauthorised access
N: note down details of anyone accessing scene
B: brief authorised people before they enter
E: explore, record and report any suspicious activity
N: no contaminating or interfering with scene
T: think of the animals, remove all animals from the scene
What are some questions to ask O/C Scene before taking up scene guard duties?
a: who is authorised to access the scene?
b: where are the scene boundaries?
c: where is the designated entry point?
d: what route must authorised people take in the scene?
e: where is the point of exit?
f: what happened at the scene?
g: are there any suspects? Obtain photographs and descriptions of outstanding suspects

a: Victim/Informant
b: obtain their particulars
c: obtain details of the incident using TEDS and 5WH+H
