En route to the scene
A
Obtain A description of the suspect. A description of the suspects vehicle(if any). The suspects direction of travel. A description of any weapons carried.
Discuss areas of responsibility at the scene, decide who will deal with suspects/ victims.
Plan your vehicle approach.
Discuss the safe forward point.
Consider your options.

On arrival
A
- advise Comms of your arrival
- park in a safe clear area
- discuss your approach to the house, building or scene
- take radio and a torch at night
- stop take note of what’s happening where it is happening and who is involved.
- brief situation report to Comms/safe forward point location.
- ask anyone what’s happening and where and who is involved
- ask for informant

Obtaining information
A
- obtain brief facts
- ask the informant/witness to:identify the victim and or the offender and their whereabouts.
- location of the scene and the victim.
- keep informant occupied. Ask them to remain in a specified place so can be re interviewed later.
