Responsibilities of a scene guard
A
- prevent unauthorised people entering the scene.
- Record in notebook details of anyone entering scene.
- Brief authorised people
- Promptly report and record any suspicious activity
- Avoid contaminating or interfering with the scene.
- Be aware of animals and remove them from scene

Control people at the scene & those attempting to leave or arrive.
Freeze the scene so that it remains in the condition in which it was found.
Preserve any evidence that may be destroyed or start to decay in some way.
