Inheritance, variation and evolution Flashcards

1
Q

Describe what happens during meiosis and compare to mitosis

Q

Describe what happens at fertilisation

A

Fertilisation - gamete + gamete = offspring

Q

Describe how organisms are named and classified in the Linnaean system

A

It organises organisms by their charateristics and structures into the group.

Kingdom → Phylum → Class → Order → Family → Genus → Species

Binomial naming system → Genus + Species e.g. Homo sapiens
