A

A person can apply to be a child of the family if the deceased was married or in a civil partnership at date of death. SCH2 inheritance and trustees powers act 2014 amends the reading of the word family so the person can apply if the deceased assumed the role Akin to that of parent of a child even if there was no marriage or civil partnership.
