Most research are not longitudinal for example, researchers ask adult participants on their relationship with their parents. This causes validity problems first asking question relies on honesty and accurate perception of the participants. Second, it is hard to know what is being assessed as early attachment or in fact, adult attachment evidence is it early attachment or adult attachment
