Pathogenesis of fever

A

Bacteria enter body-> produce exogenous pyrogens -> stimulate production of endogenous pyrogens (by defence cells) -> stimulates production of prostaglandin2 (mediated by IL, IL6 and TNF) -> travels to hypothalamic receptor -> adjusts temperature set point (with cAMP)
