In Spanish, an infinitive is the basic, unconjugated form of a verb that ends in -ar, -er, or -ir. For example, hablar means “to speak” and comer means “to eat”
characteristics of Spanish infinitives:
Endings: Spanish infinitives end in -ar, -er, or -ir. For example, hablar means “to speak”, comer means “to eat”, and vivir means “to live”
Unconjugated: Infinitives are the basic form of a verb and are not conjugated. This means they are the verb form found in a dictionary, and are equivalent to “to do” or “to play” in English.
Used in many ways:
*Expressing likes and dislikes
* Expressing future plans
* Expressing wants
*Working as commands
*Forming the future simple tenser
Classified into conjugations: Infinitives are classified into three conjugations based on their endings
AR, IR, ER
Characteristics of Spanish infinitives
When one verb follows another without a change of subject , the first verb is conjugated and the second verb stays in the infinitive.

Voy a sdtudiar
