What is infective endocarditis ?
A
Bacteremia enters bloodstream and causes serious inflammation of the endocardium (inner lining of heart chambers and heart valves)
Can lead to heart failure or septic shock

Acquired valvular heart disease with stenosis or regurgitation
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
Prev infective endo
Structural congenital heart disease (exclude iso atrial septal defect, fully repaired ventricular septal defect, closure devices that are endothelialised)
Valve replacement
