A

painful, reddened area just above the interdigital cleft between the heel bulbs
erected hairs around the lesion

how is digital dermatitis graded?

A

M0 - no lesions
M1 - early small lesion <2cm circumscribed red/grey epithelial defect
M2 - acute active ulceration or granulomatous lesion greater than 2cm
M3 - healing stage when the lesion is covered in scab like lesion
M4 - late chronic lesion, thickened epithelium or proliferative
