Cause = HIV virus
Symptoms = Generalized dysfunction of immune system
What does it do? HIV infects CD4 T cells, resulting in decrease of CD4T cells = progressive immunodificiency
How is it transmitted? Blood, semen, vaginal secretions, breast milk
What is the incubation period for HIV? months - years

Rubeola (Measles)

A

Agent = paramyxoviru
Incubation = 10 to 20 days
Communication = 4-5 days after rash appears, PRODROMAL STAGE
Source = respiratory tract, blood, urine of infected person
TRANSMISSION = airborne, direct droplet, transplacental
