Treat with azithromycin and atovaquone
Pt went hiking in the Northeast on Friday and found a tick attached on Monday morning. No rash, no symptoms
<24 hours just observe
36 hours or more, treat with Doxycycline
Pt presents with fever, headache, generalized adenopathy, and maculopapular rash on palms and soles.
AST/ALT, ALT phos are mildly elevated

Pt coming back from South Africa and now has fever, anemia, jaundice, and splenomegaly

You can give vaccines as well, but that will take two weeks to start to work.
A pt is brought in January from NH with cough, sore throat, fever, and myalgias since yesterday. He had a flu shot the previous October. Several residents in NH have has similar symptoms. The rapid flue is negative. w.t.d

Pt attends a party and eats from a buffy line, and has abdominal cramping and vomiting 4 hours after ingestion
Staph. aureus
can also be Bacillus cereus
These two are fast onset and have predominately vomiting with little to no watery diahrrea
The HIV-negative partner asks you how to prevent HIV in addition to condoms. w.t.d

Pt was fishing on Nantucket Island. Pt noticed a rash on the leg, which disappeared a few days later. A couple of weeks later, pt presents with dizziness. What does the EKG show, and what caused this?
