Transmission precautions
- pathogens smaller than 5 microns
- private room with negative air pressure
- Mask if being transported
- N-95 Mask
Droplet precautions
- droplets larger than 5 microns
- private room or with client with same infection
- Maintain separation of 3 feet between client
- Mask if less than 3 feet
- Mask if transported
Contact precautions
- private room or client with same infection
- Gown or gloves when in contact with patient
Standard precautions
- Hand hygiene before and after patient contact
- PPE when risk of body fluid exposure
- Use and dispose of sharps safely
- Clean all shared patient equipment
- Use of aseptic technique
- Dispose of all waste and linen safely
