Droplet Precautions

(umbrella to protect from rain drops)
Illness spread by droplet also require contact precautions because after 3 feet the droplets land of surface

Precautions Misc Notes
Mycoplasma and Meningoccocal Pneumonia are the only Pneumonia that is DROPLET. The rest is STANDARD.Neisseria Meningitis ( Droplet) and Viral Meningitis (Contact)for Measles, Rubeola is Airborne while Rubella (German Measles) is Dropletfor Plague, Pneumonic Plague is Droplet while Bubonic Plague is StandardVaricella (chickenpox) requires use of Airborne Precautions and Contact precautions as well

RSV Precaution
RSV can be spread when an infected person coughs or sneezes into the air, creating virus-containing droplets that can linger briefly in the air. Other people can become infected if the droplet particles contact their nose, mouth, or eye. (CDC)
