Lasts from birth to two years
What are the major stages of physical growth in an infant?
Infants experience rapid physical growth. This is seen through large increases in weight and height.
They also begin to develop motor skills. These can be divided into gross and fine motor skills
Explain what gross motor skills are
Used to coordinate large muscles - e.g. moving the arms and legs
Explain what fine motor skills are
Used to coordinate small muscles - e.g. moving the hands and fingers.
