4 types of photography: Advertising, Catalog, Editorial, E-commerce
Editorial
Print work of a model commissioned directly by a magazine.
Can refer to the type of photography, style, look, style of makeup, or model
E-Commerce
Buying and selling of a product online. Models wear clothing and products from online services like amazon and Walmart.
AFTRA
American Federation for Television and Radio Artists. A union that regulates the conditions, usage and rates for tv and radio talent
Agency Director
The person who oversees all agency activities like go-sees, bookings and online portfolios. Basically your agent.
Art Director
The person who coordinates, oversees and directs tv advertising. They do all the hiring.
Casting
Interview for a particular assignment. Usually the client will ask for a specific type of model
Digitals
A head to toe shot to send to clients. Usually in Jeans, a swimsuit or underwear.
Dresser
Person behind the scenes at fashion shows who helps models with garments and accessories. Another way to network and informally network with other runway clients.
Release
A contract signed by a model after a booking shoot releasing the photo for usage.
Residual
Fees paid for repeat usage of a commercial. Usually governed by AFTRA or SAG
SAG
Screen Actors Guild: Union of TV and film performers that regulates the industry standards for members.
Stylist
The person who organizes, dresses and accessorizes during a photo shoot booking or fashion show.
Usage
Earnings paid regarding a specific length of time concerning a print, stills, commercial, and advertisement.
Voucher
The model’s invoice submitted to the agency after the booking.
