A signifacant and remarkable time in life that introduced the start of factories, and sped up the process for our work.
what was the development in agriculture?
the changes that took place in agriculture were brought about by demand for more food.
What is a enclosure
A British Law government that allowed common land owners to purchase bits of property, to grow crops and vegetables.
what is the difference between substiance farming and commercial farming
commercial = farming for others
Substiance = farming for yourself.
How did Englands Factories work?
they burned Coal in factories and used it to work factories.
what were the 4 reasons why Britian was a good country at the time?
Britians Coal supply
A stable government
Lots of colonies
an acsess to good banks
what were the first factories like in the I.R
factories needed to be around a flow of water for factories at the time to work.
How was the production of iron like?
Charcol was the first substance used, but it was very slow and needed lots of wood.
What was the new method used to bake coal?
In 1709 a new method called coke was used to bake coal, it was much hotter and made coal cook quicker and replaced charcoal.
What was the spinning Jenny?
It was a process of a spinning yarn by allowing a spinning yarn to operate and spin multiple times continously.
what was the impact of a spinning Jenny
The spinning Jenny lead to an increase of production and reduced labour costs. It was also affordable and quality was so much better.
what were the uses of coal?
demand for coal increased to iron and steam which was used to produce iron.
what was the opening field system, and how did it work before the agriculture revolution?
The opening field system was a method of farming where large fields were divided throughout fields.
What is a crop rotation, and how did the four field system improve upon it?
Crop rotation is a method were different types of crops were planted in the same field in different seasons
