What was the Industrial revolution?
The Industrial Revolution was a period of rapid industrialization and urbanization that took place in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. It was a time of improvement that was marked by the introduction of machinery and factory production, leading to significant societal and economic changes.

Why was the era of the Industrial Revolution called “the best of times and theworst of times”?
because while it brought about remarkable advancements in technology, economic growth, and living standards for some, it also led to significant social upheaval, inequality, and exploitation of workers, resulting in harsh working conditions, urban slums, and environmental degradation.
What is capitalism
an economic system in which individuals own/ control the means of: production, distribution, and the exchange of GOODS and Services.
Who was Karl Marx?
Karl Marx was a philosopher, economist, and political theorist He is best known for his influential works, such as “The Communist Manifesto” and “Das Kapital,” which laid the foundation for the ideology of Marxism. Marx’s ideas focused on analyzing the class struggle within capitalist societies and advocating for the overthrow of capitalism to establish a classless society based on common ownership of the means of production.

Why did Karl Marx attack capitalism?
He believed that capitalism inherently produced social inequality and exploitation.
Marx argued that under capitalism, the bourgeoisie (capitalist class) owned and controlled the means of production while the proletariat (working class) had to sell their labor power to survive, leading to the exploitation of workers for the profit of the capitalists.
