A

he mapped out the death and houses which cholera sufferers on broad street (500 people lived there) and worked out they were all drinking water from the broad street pump

after the pump was taken away the death rate dropped dramatically

  • a rich woman made her servant get water from that pump because it tasted nicer and she died
  • people who drank beer from the nearby pub and not water from the pump didn’t die
