A

the turnpike system. There would be inspectors to check the road wellness and people would be charged so they could develop and build more innovated roads.

How did transport change?

A

At this time, steam trains were introduced as well as tram cars, with the early car prototypes coming people still sometimes used carriages at this age. Canals were created to transport heavy goods easily around.

A

Houses were built closer again into terrace housing and most were made of a strong, cheap, red brick that was more effective than the current stone and wood houses.

What happened to farmland?

A

Instead of strip farming, people began to have to pay for a private area to farm in, fences were built to prevent livestock or people destroying the produce and many farms were later on removed to be built for shops and housing.

How did jobs change?

A

While the amount of farming jobs reduced, many jobs in factories opened, this gave the opportunity for lowly educated people to start making money. However the early factories were still dangerous and could causes the workers health issues such us asthma that could genetically spread to the next generation.

A

The textile industries became mechanised with the use water power, iron production skyrocketed due to the demand in machinery and steam engines.

How did medicine and doctors develop?

A

Medicine became improved and had the right ingredients to help the taker become more healthy or fight diseases. This increased the average person’s lifespan as well as child survival rates become much higher that encouraged people to reproduce with a higher chance of their child living for a longer time.
