The subjective testimonies of individuals claiming a religious experience, in order to find similar characteristics, then draw the general conclusion that the experiences can only be explained in terms of God’s existence

How did Swinburne suggest religious experiences can be felt
Empirically (through the senses)
How did Swinburne suggest religious experiences can be interpreted?
non-empirically (through our religious sense)
So what should we believe when someone say’s they’ve had a religious experience
We should believe that one has taken place
What does proof of religious experiences lie in
The fact that those who experience them are changed forever
What is a problem with the inductive argument
The conclusion is the best that appears probable on the basis of the evidence offered
- however the conclusion depends on an accurate interpretation of that evidence which may be influenced by beliefs of the experient
