With Australia’s population at 26 million. and Aboriginal and Torres Strait’s Islander population is 984, 000 making up 3.8% of the population. this is an increase from 2016 by over 185 thousand people. meaning an increase in healthcare accessed by First nations people.
How many languages do they have?
At the time when of the Europeans coming there were over 250 distinct Indigenous languages of the 145 languages remaining 110 are endangered. it is difficult to help bring these languages out of near extinction because of the close ties with its culture.

How do they use and interact with the land?
for aboriginal and Torres strait islanders it was critical for their survival for them to be as sustainable as possible. so that for the next season the food would be replenished and ready for them.
what are the Aboriginal and Torres strait islanders’ beliefs when it comes to the land and ancestors
they believed in having an all-consuming connection with the land is what is means to have a relationship with their ancestors. in which they thought were within the land and that looking after their land is like looking after the land is like looking after their ancestors.
this was described as the Dreamtime included the stories, songs, dances and artwork which detailed how the earth was made traditions and cultural beliefs passed down from one generation to the next. explained why the physical land was formed in the way it was.
