What is heritage?
Heritage is anything that is inherited; it has been in existence and is being passed to us.
What is natural heritage?
Natural heritage includes natural or geographical features like mountains, forests, deserts, land, sea, river, lake, etc.
What is Cultural heritage?
It is a creation of humans using their intelligence, skills, and artistic ability.
Cultural heritage is divided into:
tangible and intangible heritage
Tangible heritage is also called
archeological heritage
Tangible heritage is
means built heritage which comprises physical objects, concrete forms, materials, etc., for e.g., monuments and forts.
Intangible heritage is also called
Living heritage
Intangible heritage is
ranges from ideas, traditions, living styles, practices, etc. The continuing tradition constitutes living heritage and represents the personality and nature of a country. for e.g., customs, traditions, language, etc.
Culture is
It is a complex whole which includes knowledge, beliefs, art, morals and any other habits acquired by human beings.
The dictionary gives the meaning of culture
as the training and refinement of mind, taste, and manners or “the intellectual side of Civilization”
Material culture
includes technology, architecture, art forms, material goods and equipment used in daily life in the household, agriculture, commerce, warfare and other social activities. All these reflect material culture.
Non-material culture
includes literature and intellectual tradition, believes, myths, legends, and other habit acquired by a human being as a member of society.

The power of simulation and synthesis has throughout the ages categorized the Indian culture and passed through
Vedic, Islamic and European influences and survived with its own glory in spite of numerous invasions faced from time to time.
