Musical features of Indian Classical
A
- sitar improvises round a scale called a raga
- sitar features microtonal bends
- sitar plays with no meter and plays freely as the improvise
- tabla plays rhythm cycles underneath the sitar, often play very rapid rhythms toward the end of the piece
- rhythm pattern played by Tabla is called the tala
- tanpura play drone, with one or two pitches which sustain throughout the whole piece

Gat ( end section ) ehere we hear tabla and gets faster building to the end
