A definite noun is when the article “the” is used before a noun to indicate that the identity of the noun is known to the reader.

A definite noun is indicated by ال prefixed to the noun. This also results eliminating the tanween at the end of the vowel (so that it is a singular vowel).

No, many proper nouns end with tanween but they are still definite nouns.
